Almond and Honey Exfoliant

I love DIY recipes, not only because they are cheap, but you also know the exact ingredients that you are putting on your skin.

After the recent post for almond related beauty recipes, I have one more up my sleeve…

You will need:

  • 2 or three almonds
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Crush almonds (not too fine, enough to exfoliate), I like mine to be the texture of table salt.

Mix well with honey.

Massage gently onto skin. Leave on face for at least 5 minutes.

Rinse off with lukewarm water and in a circular motion.

Voila! Your skin will be as smooth as a baby’s butt.

The Goodness of Almond Oil

Melbourne’s winter is usually cruel, with icy wind, rain and hail. This year hasn’t been any different.

That’s why we need to take extra care for our skin in these harsh conditions.

Almond oil, which can easily be found in supermarkets and health food stores, is great to use for especially dry skin in winter.

Here are a couple of DIY recipe for you to try.

You will need:

  • 2 cups of Rose Petals (preferably red or pink)
  • 2 cups of Almond Oil

Mix these ingredients in a clean jar.

Let it sit for 2 weeks near sunlight.

Strain and apply to skin.

This makes skin smooth and supple.

Beneficial for dry and flaky skin.

You will need:

  • 1 tablespoon of Almond Oil
  • 1 cup of butter

Mix all ingredients well.

Apply a generous amount to hands before bed.

Cover hands with gloves.

You will have beautifully soft and very well moisturized hands in the morning!

Store any leftovers in a jar.

Refridgerate  during warmer weather.
